The Non-Violents
A story about the right to feel everything.
THE PREMISE
The Non-Violents is a comic mini-series about a girl from the future with one mission: stop the invention that erased rage, grief, and pain—and left something colder in their place.
Dr. Whitman believes he’s on the verge of a breakthrough—a serum that will silence the violent impulses buried deep within the human psyche. But when a teenage girl appears at his doorstep, claiming to be from the future and armed with impossible knowledge about his life, his reality starts to crack.
She’s not here to save the world.
She’s here to stop him from trying.
What began as a cure for humanity’s darkest instincts may become the very thing that robs it of its soul.
The Story Behind the Story
The Non-Violents emerged from my own journey through grief, a path that many of us find ourselves on at some point. In crafting the narrative, I mirrored my own emotional struggles through the character of Dr. Whitman.
Much like him, I had buried feelings of self-loathing, guilt, and anger related to the death of someone close to me. While not a biographical story, it was through Dr. Whitman’s struggles that I discovered true emotional healing involves embracing all of our feelings—both the painful and the joyful.
For me, creating this story has been a vital step towards understanding and healing, and I hope it offers something meaningful to others navigating their own paths.
