Step 1: live ⟶ Step 2: die ⟶ Step 3: repeat ⟶

A story about love, guilt, and the ultimate second chance—if you’re willing to die for it.

Imagine you could visit your loved ones in the Afterlife for six hours—but with a catch; you have to die to get there.

That’s the brutal bargain facing Roy, a grieving brother haunted by guilt over his sister’s murder. In this emotionally charged comic mini-series, Roy discovers that exposure to a mysterious toxic substance gives him the power to return from the dead—over and over again.

With each self-inflicted death, he spends six hours in the afterlife with his sister, desperate to uncover the truth and make things right. But how far can you go for redemption… before there’s nothing left of you to save?

Underneath the Sheet

The seed for the story of Body Bag came fifteen years ago, after my younger brother passed away unexpectedly.

Like Roy, who lost his sister in the story, I struggled with feelings of shame and regret, convinced that if I had been a more attentive and supportive brother, things might have turned out differently.

My journey toward coping with these emotions became the foundation for the central theme of Body Bag, which is essentially the story of a brother’s quest for redemption.

ILLUSTRATION

Monika is a seasoned comic artist with a knack for bold lines and sharp storytelling. In Body Bag, her linework moves seamlessly between realms—grounding the sterile hush of the morgue and illuminating the enigmatic glow of the afterlife. Her characters speak volumes, even in silence—the tilt of a head, the clench of a fist, a glance held too long. Stark or surreal, her scenes hum with life. Her panels breathe. And with Monika, every detail matters.

COLOR

Luis NCT brings serious firepower to Body Bag, with a style that practically lunges off the page. Known for his dynamic brush strokes and layered textures, Luis doesn’t just color scenes—he breathes movement and mood into them. His signature look adds grit, weight, and atmosphere, making every panel feel like it’s pulsing with life (or death).

With a stacked resume that includes projects for Image Comics and collaborations with Jason Shawn Alexander, Luis is no stranger to high-stakes storytelling. In Body Bag, his work amps up the drama and blurs the line between the real and the unreal—just the way we like it.
